About This Project
Empower4Girls will deliver a hands-on digital skills bootcamp for 50 teenage girls, equipping them with practical knowledge in digital literacy, Canva design, Microsoft Office, internet safety, and career readiness. The project aims to increase girls' confidence, employability, and access to future opportunities in the digital economy.
Detailed Description
Nigeria's digital economy continues to grow rapidly, yet many young girls, particularly those from underserved communities, lack access to digital education and practical technology skills. This digital divide limits their educational, entrepreneurial, and employment opportunities. The Girls in Tech Bootcamp is a two-week intensive training program designed to equip 50 girls aged 15–22 with essential digital skills that will prepare them for higher education, entrepreneurship, and entry-level employment. Participants will receive practical training in: Computer fundamentals Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Canva graphic design Internet research Online safety and digital citizenship Email and professional communication CV writing LinkedIn profile creation Career guidance and mentorship Each participant will complete practical assignments and receive a certificate of participation upon successful completion. The project also includes mentorship sessions led by female professionals who will inspire participants and provide guidance on career pathways in technology and business. By increasing digital literacy among young women, Empower4Girls aims to reduce gender inequality in access to technology while empowering participants to become confident leaders within their communities.
